FAQ
Q: What is the After Hours Gaming League (AHGL)?
A: The After Hours Gaming League is a fun, modern twist to the traditional corporate sports league. Instead of softball or basketball, the AHGL offers corporate teams the chance for some friendly competition on the virtual battlefields of top strategy games.
Q: What games will be played in Season 3?
A: StarCraft II and League of Legends.
Q: When will matches be played?
A: Games are played on Sunday of each week barring extraneous circumstances.
Q: What are the key dates and deadlines for inclusion in Season 3?
A: Registration is now closed (as of 11/16/2012). Team profiles and registration fee are due at this time.
Corporate and charity permissions are due 12/7/2012.
Q: How do I get my team into the League?
A: First you should reach out within your company and find other players using resources like mailing lists, newsletters, forums, bulletin boards, etc. We created a recruiting flyer to help you out. Try to network with other employees and ask them to spread the word. Once you have a team, start playing and having fun together since that’s what the AHGL is all about!
To be formally included in the next season of the League you’ll also need to register. Registration is currently open on our home page at http://www.afterhoursgaming.tv (see relevant blog post at http://day9.tv/d/kirason/season-3-registration-is-now-open/ for instructions). The registration fee for Season 3 will be $50 per player for an A-League team or $25 per player for a B-League team. A full list of steps will be found in the Season 3 Handbook below. Key steps include: A full team of 8-12 players who are full time employees (35+ hours/week), permission to form an official company team (see handbook for details), and permission to play for your selected charity.

Q: What is the difference between the A and B Leagues?
A: A-League is aimed toward a more competitive level of play (Masters/Diamond for SC2, Gold+ for LoL), while B-League is aimed toward a more casual level of play (~Platinum for SC2, ~Silver for LoL). Full details are in the above rulebook.
Q: Do the companies involved know about this League?
A: Yes! The AHGL is a corporate gaming league. As such, and in deference to corporate trademarks and brands, each team is required to have its corporation’s official approval in order to participate.
Q: Can I create a "fake" company and participate in this League?
A: Sorry, the AHGL is for real companies only :)
Q: Why is there a registration fee?
A: Running the AHGL each season costs more than you might expect, the registration fee helps defray those costs and enables us to improve the AHGL year after year.
Q: I hear there is a casting competiton this year! How can I participate?
A: Registration is now open and will close on 11/16/2012. Participants will be notified by 11/30/2012 and may be asked to cast preseason games as soon as 12/02/2012. Applications details can be found in our handbook:
